Mk I Space Marines

Today’s picture is a pair of the only MkI Ultramarine Games Workshop have manufactured. These are painted as Ultramarines. The Ultramarines legion were never issued with Mk1 armour, for combat use. The Thunder warriors were the only one of the Emperor’s forces to use it in combat. These Ultramarine must be using it for ceremonial purposes. It appears Ben’s Ultramarines have been caught out a few times as the marine armed with a bolter has appeared in a few battle reports. The marine armed with a relic blade has never seen combat although he forms part of Ben’s Ultramarine army honour guard.

The Emperors Children are Coming – Legion Palatine Blades Squad

There is about to be a significant change at Chapter Masters. Ben has recently started painting some Pre Heresy Emperors Children. So expect to see the lots of pictures over the coming months. No prises for guessing what Ben’s money will be going on at Warhammer Fest. In the meantime here’s a picture of Emperors Children Legion

Today’s Picture: Wargh Wednessday 1st of Orktober.

I bet you didn’t see that Wargh coming? Today we have a display of some black Orks at Warhammer World. If you follow this site you’ll already know the miniature hall is currently closed. Hopefully you’ll be able to visit Warhammer World next year when the works have been completed and the miniature hall has once again opened it’s doors. My quarterly l trip to Warhanmer World is a real treat.

I’m sure they will start charging and stop me taking photo’s one day. I do my best to only post pictures of the displays that are no longer available, so I don’t damage the visitor numbers. The photo’s I take are not even close to a substitute for visiting in person. Soaking up the miniatures in person is a experience that can’t be described with words alone.

Today’s Picture: Tyranid Tuesday – Green Forge World Hive Tyrant

For Tyranid Tuesday we have a horrific Hive Tyrant. This Hive Tyrant was sculpted by Forge World’s Simon Egan.
I love the use of natural pastel green’s, which add a real nature look to this model. From a resale perspective you have to be brave to paint Tyranids in anything but the major hive fleet colours, Although of course Forge World have nothing to fear.
