Tanks at Golden Demon 2014

The humble tank has had a hard life in 40k in recent years. There was the can opening edition of 40k known as 5th edition, then the event of hull points which both extended and shortened the life of tanks at the same time. Finally there was 7th edition which gave tanks a new lease of life, due to the reduction in armour piercing value of AP2 weapons. However at the same time there has been the introduction of Lords of War, Imperial Knights and Wraith Knights to the standard game table, which has quite frankly squated the place of the tank as the armoured bayomonth on the block. Still it’s nice to see people are still painting them for Golden Demon.

First up we have the lightest tank at Golden Demon, well not really a tank but there are not enough Jeeps to warrant a separate post. I believe this is a Forge World Tauros Rapid Assault Vehicle painted in jungle camouflage.IMG_2671.PNG

Next up is a Blood Angle Predator Infurnus.

The was one of my favourite tanks. If you have a problem called the Forge World Spartan, painted in Crimson Fist Chapter Colours.

The Dark Angels chase the Fallen in this striking air brushed Rhino. This looks like the work of El from Half God Studios. We will be doing a feature on his work next year.

Today is Christmas Eve and like all respectable men I need to go and buy a lot of Christmas presents, so this will be the last pre Christmas 2014 post on Chapter Masters. Happy Christmas from Ben, Gareth and myself. I hope your Christmas is full of fun and joy and a little 40k.

Golden Demon 2014 Lord of the Rings Category

Today marks the UK release of the Hobbit battle of five armies film it a bit of a break from the normal subject of this 40k cantered blog. I can think of no better time to publish our pictures from the Lord of the rings Category in Warhammer Fest’s 2014 Golden Demon competition.

In order we have Galadriel and Radicast PYO, Tauriel, Legolas and Gimli and finally Galadriel. The base on the Legolas is simple yet very striking in comparison to more intricate base on Tauriel. The purple robe on Galadriel is also very striking.

Golden Demon 2014 Knight Entries

imperial Knights were always going to be a big feature of the 2014 Golden Demon competition. There where no less than 12 Knights entered into Golden Demon 2014. The big surprise it that none of the won Golden Demon trophies.

Let build up to those Imperil Knights and have a look at the Eldar Wraith Knights 1st.

Both Eldar entires were from the Saim Hann craft world. The first is sporting a bit of bling in the form of a Gold and Red paint job.

The Second Wriath Knight has taken up the more traditional red and white craft world colours.

After the Eldar came the Imperial Knights in ascending size order we have a knight that doesn’t come from any Knight House I know of, in fact it’s a very contemporary looking knight. If I’m not mistaken this is really a Black Templars contemptor dreadnought dressed up as a knight

Next up we have three of Games Workshops’ Knight Errants.

Next up is a Traitor Knight with some unusual weapons. I would guess there is an alliance to slanesh given the pink coloured armour.

We finish up with a set of three different Forge World Knights, one of which has a full conclave of Knight Paladins and Knight Errants as a retinue.
