Space Wolves Dreadnought Pictures and Prices

Leaked pictures have now surfaced of all the Dreadnought builds from the new Space Wolves Venerable Dreadnought kit. Prices for the kit and the new codex have also surfaced.

The Dreadnought will be somewhat more expensive than the existing venerable kit at £33/€43/$54USD/$78AUD. Sorry Aussies import taxes suck. This price puts it in line with a DreadKnight. The codex will be the same price as most existing codex’s.

Ben’s View? This is the 1st kit since the Imperial Titan Knight that I feel will be a must have purchase. It’s nice to see GW are still able put out nice looking small kits. Hear is to hoping for a wolf priest model, other than Ulrik.

Space Wolves’ Storm Fang Flyer Arrives

Looking much like the Caestus Assault Ram the Storm Fang can transport infantry but can also be equipped with a Frost fang Cannon. The cannon can be used cold S6 or on freeze setting S8 AP2. It’s not really ground breaking. A Storm Eagle or Raven with Las and Melta will be far better at anti amour battle field roles. The S6 Ap3 blast will give power armour infantry a head ache though. The look reminds me more more of a cobbled together centurion than the butch but refined Forge World Space Marine design. I think this is clearly aimed at this it looks cool market rather than the savvy gamer, although we will have to wait until the points values have been published to really know.

Today’s Picture Limited Edition Veteran GamesDay 2005

Here we have the Limited Edition Veteran from GamesDay 2005. This model was sculpted by the legend that is Juan Diaz. Juan really redefined the look of Space Marines after Jes Godwin moved to take over all control of the Design Team at Games Workshop. Some people still say the space marine models haven’t really recovered since his departure. Hopefully the new Space Wolf release will show Games Workshop’s Space Marines are back in strength.

Games Day is Officially Dead – Warhammer Fest is here.

It’s absolutely official there will be no more Games Days. This was made clear at the Warhammer 40k open day. Games Workshop Poole has also posted pictures of the new Warhammer Fest tickets on their Facebook page. The event will take place over a 2 day weekend in October including a Golden Demon competition on Sunday. Tickets are only £20 but it’s not been made clear if this covers both days or just one, however it looks like just 1. With Golden Demon included it’s expected Sunday will be more popular. The richo arena can hold up to 12,000 but I expect the ticket numbers will be similar to last year, unless we want to play sardines. At the moment this appears the UK will be the only Warhammmer Fest event taking place this year.
