Old School Killa Klan or is it a Deff Dreg

While this is proper old school, it’s not the original Rogue Trader era Orky Dreadnought, which is in the Ork Gallery somewhere. Painted in the colours of the Evil Suns from a time when the klans would unite to fight a Wargh under a big boss. The current plastic kit is clearly superior, however there is still an Orky charm to this old fella.

Today’s Picture: 40k is a Mindfield

Seventh edition certainly is a minefield. One of which I have no personal experience. However because a good mind field can only heighten the enjoyment of a game of 40k, a post on chapter Masters is certainly warranted. This is the limited-edition minefield which was available at the time the planet strike expansion was released. Some four years later Ben has just got around to painting it.

Bane Blades Eight Years On

Well here we are trying to find our feet or even work out what rule set we are playing with. With the community welcoming the rules that are 7th edition, but not the frequency of a 100 week rules cycle and confused about how unbound armies and other rules are going to pan out. I thought I’d role back the clock, not just two years but 8 years. I would rather go back 10 years, but it’s very hard to work out what was going on in the later days of 3rd edition. Given the lack of 40k websites running at the time.

So what was happening back in June 2006?
It was rumours and early pictures of the BaneBlade. It’s hard to imaging a game of Apocalyse without one of these bad boys now. How has the BaneBlade survived? Compared to other kits released back in 2006 it’s done rather well. It’s still a mean mother to shift and still puts out a ton of firepower. Considering it’s modest points value I think these bad boys are a worthy entry for the citadel hall of fame. It’s probably time I added a Guard contingent to my own Imperial Force.

Ben’s Painting Table: Kracken Tyranid Zoanthope

Ben is still enjoying his break from blogging and has sent me a picture of his finished Zoanthrope for his Kracken Tyranid army. He informs us he is now repainting his Crimson Terror as a Red Terror in between painting Termaguants. A friend has also donated an original Screamer Killer Carifex to his hoard. Ben says he’s been invigorated by starting a new force. He doesn’t intend to repaint all his old Tyranid Hive Fleet, just the ones he wants to game with regularly.
