Today’s Picture: Grot Guard

This Ork Grot army was used in the March 2014 Throne of Skulls Event. I briefly spoke with the owner. Not content with this fantastic looking Grot army he has converted Ork mono wheel cyborgs; but wasn’t allowed to use them in the event; as they models where thought to cause confusion. Instead he painted the Baneblade in under a week.
My favourite unit in this army is the fortifications which have been scratch built as an Ork camp. There is a watch tower made from an ammo create and senti gun style Quad Gun.20140604-150112-54072798.jpg

Ben’s Painting Desk: Tyranid Zoanthrope

I’ve been very good at starting models this year, but not so good at finishing them. I’ve decided to show some work in progress photos, hopefully this may inspire me to finish the models, or you to start some. This is a 2nd hand Zoanthope I’ve been repainting. I’ve added my own hive fleet’a blue to the standard colours of hive fleet kraken. Which I’m considering repainting some of my existing Nids as. I’ve added some more red to this model, I’ve also darkened the red with a base if khone red, a wash of null oil and then added layers of wasdakka red. I’ve shaded the skin with sephera and Eathshade. To finish it, I’m going to do a little tiding up and put some more layers of bone on the skin.
The Zoanthope as it arrived.

Today’s Picture: Ultramarines Assault

This Imperial Guard Command Squad is stood on a Dweapon Platform overseeing his Company defending an Imperial World which has been refusing to pay taxes to the Imperium. An 100% increase in taxation prompted the rebellion. The new tax was called 7th Edition Tithes. The Imperium responded by sending 300 Ultramarines to negotiate a surrender. The Governor responded by retiring to his bunker complex and instructing his General to stick 3 BaneBlades up their…….

Today’s Picture: Plastic Ork Thunderhawk

How do Orks fly? Wiv Thundaorks ov coz!

This fantastic scratch built Ork Thunderhawk or ThundaOrk was on display at Warhammer World in March. The builder has used an interesting mix of Games Workshop kits and pasticard. Of course it’s been painted red to make um go fastta! My favourite bit on the conversion it the use of Space Marine Drop Pod doors to make the fins. What is yours?
