Old School Killa Klan or is it a Deff Dreg

While this is proper old school, it’s not the original Rogue Trader era Orky Dreadnought, which is in the Ork Gallery somewhere. Painted in the colours of the Evil Suns from a time when the klans would unite to fight a Wargh under a big boss. The current plastic kit is clearly superior, however there is still an Orky charm to this old fella.

Today’s Picture: Grot Guard

This Ork Grot army was used in the March 2014 Throne of Skulls Event. I briefly spoke with the owner. Not content with this fantastic looking Grot army he has converted Ork mono wheel cyborgs; but wasn’t allowed to use them in the event; as they models where thought to cause confusion. Instead he painted the Baneblade in under a week.
My favourite unit in this army is the fortifications which have been scratch built as an Ork camp. There is a watch tower made from an ammo create and senti gun style Quad Gun.20140604-150112-54072798.jpg

How do Orks fly? Wiv Thundaorks ov coz!

This fantastic scratch built Ork Thunderhawk or ThundaOrk was on display at Warhammer World in March. The builder has used an interesting mix of Games Workshop kits and pasticard. Of course it’s been painted red to make um go fastta! My favourite bit on the conversion it the use of Space Marine Drop Pod doors to make the fins. What is yours?

New G(M)orkanaut Spoted

stompa http://darogscompany.blogspot.co.uk/2014/05/gorkanaut.html?m=1 The Orks look like they are getting some new toys to go stomping with shortly as seen in the link above..Many Ork players must have felt left out at seeing The Tau get riptides. The Eldar get their Wraithknight. The Marines getting thier teletubbies sorry Centurians. The Tyranids getting all of thier nice new Monstrous creatures and the imperial titan knights all appearing before they got there hands on any thing new well her it is waagh!!!  A mini stompa called a Gorkanaut or Morkanaut, that is of similar size to the Forgeworld mega dread but smaller than a Stompa as you can see the towering behemoth in the background behind it in the picture in the link. Does this mean the new Ork codex is just round the corner or will it be a one off sale?

Warhammer 40k 7th Edition Will be Released in May 2014

After days of no news there can be no more doubt. Warhammer 40k 6th edition is gone. The English version is no longer available from the Games Workshop website. The digital version has been removed completely.

So long 6th, May your allies system rot in pieces. Long live 7th edition may your chaotic under play tested rules reign like the Chaos Lord who wrote them.

Seventh Edition Release Date
The rumours all point towards May 24th but the rumour mongers disagree if this is a release date or pre-order date. The date given in advance for 6th edition was a pre-order date.

Price
No indication has been given if this is a full on £45 or more fluff monster or an entry encouraging price of £30. We can hardly discount £50 given the inflation rate at Games Workshop.

Starter Set Contents
Dark Vengence is still available and if the 5th to 6th edition transition is anything to go by, Dark Vengeance will be available until the 23rd of May. However other than auction sites, that will be you lot, no pun intended. So if you want a cheap expansion for your Dark Angels or Chaos forces, you better grab it while you can.
There are two very contradictory rumours running over the forces to be included in the starter set. The long standing rumour is we are looking at Blood Angels vs Orks. Given the Ork Codex is also rumoured to be the First of Seventh edition, followed by Blood Angels, this would fit well. A new rumour has surfaced today on Feite212 that Elder and Astro/Guard will be in the box. This would be very odd if it does turnout to be true. Games Workshop have always tried to support current releases, not revisit Codex from the past.

That’s the 7th edition rumours for today. I’m sure more will surface tomorrow.
