Some pictures have leaked of a new apocalyse Warzone book. The indication is this will focus on the yellow Eldar known as Iyanden.
You can find the pictures here.

With news breaking there will be far reaching changes within the next 40k book, which even if Games Workshop call it revised 6th edition it will be the 7th book titled Warhammer 40,000. The question in my mind is how is this not a new version. So far we have confirmed changes in
Psychics, Allies, Force Organisation and Missions. There are long standing rumours their will be inclusion of, large fortifications, D-weapons and super heavy vehicles. If the leaked transcript is to be believed, the changes will also cover movement in assault, running, flyer movement and assault consolidation, shooting at flyers, universal special rules and goodness knows what else.
If anything I can see this being a bigger change than move from 5th to 6th edition.
The other thing that keeps occurring to me is how similar seventh edition is going to look to the post dark millennium second edition. The inclusion of mission cards psychic cards a psychic phase are all elements of dark millennium. Of course 40k already has a psychic phase and has done for sometime. Elder players are very familiar with needing to cast a bunch of psychic powers at the start of their movement phase and all they are really doing here is splitting out that action, although your opponent will now have the ability to stop those things happening.
For those of you who didn’t get to play dark millennium it was both the pinnacle of detailed rules from the old old editions and the most cumbersome and unbalanced versions the game. I do hope Games workshop are not repeating the same mistake. This new book could spell a new era of fun in 40K or another step closer to the abyss of unbalanced gaming.
Someone has got there hands on next weeks White Dwarf early. The information covers a psychic phase, more missions and the force org chart is gone for those who don’t want it. More here. This does look like a very new way of playing 40k to me.

There have been what appears to be some quite contradictory rumours surrounding the new 40k rule book release. I’m going to try to put forward a summary that will fit with all of them.
The 7th edition rumours started on 40k radio with the news this would be a book release. Later rumours of a box set emerged. It seems there are always rumours the rule book in the box set will not contain all the rules. As yet this has never been the case. The box set contents are rumoured to be Blood Angels and Orks or Eldar and Imperial Guard. The dates around the box set have been forecast as September or June. What I think we will see here is
New revised sixth edition rulebook on May 24. An Elder vs Imperial Guard campaign sets with minimal rules in June. Finally a 40k box set with a full rulebook, containing Blood Angels and Orks in September.
There has been constant rumours of percentage based army lists. 40K radio recently categorically stated the Force Organisation chart would remain within the rules. So what I think we will see here is, the traditional force organisational chart and percentage based limits on force organisation sections. This is obviously going to make the list writing more involved, but at least this won’t add to the length of the game.
The other items said to be coming with the new book are
Templates
Measures
Dice
City fight game board
PDF update for the old sixth edition book
With only two weeks remaining before the launch it won’t be long before we find out.

This Blood angel Contemptor Dreadnought was entered into Games day 2013 Golden demon, in the Warhammer 40,000 vehicle category. The Dreadnought has been armed with two twin linked auto cannon. Behind the Blood Angel Dreadnought is a World Eaters Dreadnought, which has been armed with two power fists for brutal close range assault.
At the time of writing this post Games workshop have not yet released any details for Games days in 2014. This could this spell disaster for this years’ Golden Demon and Armies on parade. After the poor attendance and feedback some people are speculating that Games day may not go ahead in 2014.
Have you or anyone that you know started work on entry for either Golden Demon or Armies if Parade 2014? How will you feel if Games day 2014 doesn’t happen? One thing is certain the editor of Warhammer visions will have a harder job finding content for the magazine, as will we finding content for Chapter Masters.
