Forge World: Imperial Fist Boarding Action Dispaly Board

The Battle of Phall – From last years Warhammer Fest

Out numbers and out gunned in ship to ship combat, the Impertial Fist had one option. Make like a pirate and take control of the Iron Warriors ships. This daring boarding action happed in the early stages of the Horus Heresey. Although ultimately this boarding action failed, it disracted the Iron Hands long enought for the Imperial Fist to escape the ambush and warn the emporer of the Iron Hands betrayal. You can see more of these picture from the last ever Games Day, aka Warhammer Fest below.

Is Games Workshop about to close Forever?

Games Workshop stores appear to be closing. Games Workshop Cheswick has removed it’s Games Workshop sign and installed a Warhammer sign above the store. Is this the end of Games Workshop. It would be a big move for the current acting CEO. This might be a temporary change to announce the arrival of Warhammer 9th edition, but it looks a bit permanent to just be promotional. Could this be the big announcement expected at Warhammer Fest. This Image was posted on Beasts of War and is is claimed to have been taken from the Games Workshop Cheswick Facebook page.IMG_0464.PNG

Rise of a knight

The rise of a knight part 1

20140329-094555.jpg

Many of you will have seen Jon’s wip Knight knocking about the site since their release which you can be seen above Hiding behind My Bane blade. Since seeing his Knight I had been craving getting hold of one myself and managed to get it around April  and have slowly been working on it since, I didn’t just want a bog standard normal knight. So being as I’m not a very good painter I had to think long and hard as to what I should do to make it stand out.20140421-083705.jpg

On a trip to Warhammer world there happened to be a Throne  of skulls tournament where there was plenty of really good armies present   although as I was looking round at all the armies I suddenly noticed 1 army that really stood out an army of knights with their eyes wired up with Led lights Eureka I knew what would now make my knight stand out!

After receiving my knight I set about opening up the box and making sure I had a good look at the sprues to see how I could achieve this.

IMG_0446-0.JPGMy initial thoughts were OH DEAR and GOLLY GOSH ok perhaps I said something a little stronger!

Watch out for part two to see how I got on.

The Ravenwing Rolls Out

Today’s picture is a group of Ravenwing bikes and Land Speeders. I’m not sure how you refer to a group of Ravenwing. If it was a group of bikers you might say a convoy or gang. So let’s go with that a gang of Ravenwing Dark Angels. I wasn’t a big fan of those Darkshroud Land Speeders when they came out, but I must confess they have grown on me.

MkI Space Marines Rouge Trader

Mk I Space Marines

Today’s picture is a pair of the only MkI Ultramarine Games Workshop have manufactured. These are painted as Ultramarines. The Ultramarines legion were never issued with Mk1 armour, for combat use. The Thunder warriors were the only one of the Emperor’s forces to use it in combat. These Ultramarine must be using it for ceremonial purposes. It appears Ben’s Ultramarines have been caught out a few times as the marine armed with a bolter has appeared in a few battle reports. The marine armed with a relic blade has never seen combat although he forms part of Ben’s Ultramarine army honour guard.
