Ben has finally obtained a third Predator for his Ultramarine army. What he didn’t spot from the auction photo was that it came with a heavy Bolter on one sponsor and a Las Cannon on the other. Ben has assured us he has a spare Heavy Bolter in his bits box he can attach. Still we think his squadron of Mki and Mkiv predators look good together, even if the old ones look a bit small. I do like the way he has made a conversion Beamer for one using a communication tower from a Bastion.

The official prices for 7th Edition have arrived.

Previous estimates provided for the 7th edition Psychic cards were a little high. They are £9 not £12. The others are as previously reported.
After days of no news there can be no more doubt. Warhammer 40k 6th edition is gone. The English version is no longer available from the Games Workshop website. The digital version has been removed completely.
So long 6th, May your allies system rot in pieces. Long live 7th edition may your chaotic under play tested rules reign like the Chaos Lord who wrote them.
Seventh Edition Release Date
The rumours all point towards May 24th but the rumour mongers disagree if this is a release date or pre-order date. The date given in advance for 6th edition was a pre-order date.
Price
No indication has been given if this is a full on £45 or more fluff monster or an entry encouraging price of £30. We can hardly discount £50 given the inflation rate at Games Workshop.
Starter Set Contents
Dark Vengence is still available and if the 5th to 6th edition transition is anything to go by, Dark Vengeance will be available until the 23rd of May. However other than auction sites, that will be you lot, no pun intended. So if you want a cheap expansion for your Dark Angels or Chaos forces, you better grab it while you can.
There are two very contradictory rumours running over the forces to be included in the starter set. The long standing rumour is we are looking at Blood Angels vs Orks. Given the Ork Codex is also rumoured to be the First of Seventh edition, followed by Blood Angels, this would fit well. A new rumour has surfaced today on Feite212 that Elder and Astro/Guard will be in the box. This would be very odd if it does turnout to be true. Games Workshop have always tried to support current releases, not revisit Codex from the past.

Retailers across the globe are reporting the core 6th edition Rulebook has been withdrawn from sale. Both US and Australian web stores list the book as no longer available.
If a 40k rule book’s success is measured by it’s longevity then 6th edition was an abject failure. Assuming the rumour published on bell of lost souls is correct. The 7th edition book will be up for preorder on the 24th May and should hit the shelves on the 31st of May. Sixth edition will therefore not have latest 2 years. Making it the shortest ever edition of 40k.
While this short shelf life may hint at a very bad rule set, the truth is far from it. Sixth edition was probably the best core rule set GW have produced. The problems came from expansions and codex releases. The more likely cause of this release is Games Workshop’s stock taking a huge fall earlier in 2014. GW need a cash cow and they need it now. Their best hope appears to be encouraging every player of their best selling system to buy a new copy of the rule book; two years earlier than expected.
Of course the question Games Workshop’s existing 40k customers may be asking is, will they or even do they need to buy it?
There has been a deathly silence on a date for Games Day, which had been announced by this point in 2013.

Chapter House Studios have joined the ranks of third party manufactures putting out alternative defence lines for Warhammer 40,000 armies.
Their Necron, sorry I mean Space Undead Defence line comes with a choice of weapons or comms really and is available with green or blue plastic glass components.
The appearance of this kit is a significantly step forward for Chapter House, although it clearly theses haven’t had the same amount of development and tooling that Games Workshop kits have. There is a distinct yet not outright copycat Necron look to it. These won’t look out of place on a game board.
It’s good to see Chapter House isn’t dead. Their product release rate appears to have slowed down significantly since the legal battle with Games Workshop started.
Some people must think it rather odd Games Workshop haven’t already released their own alternative defence lines. It was only a matter of time before other manufactures started selling these. I can only assume the sales projections favour new products over alternatives.
