Damages Awarded:
ChapterHouse Studios ordered to pay GW damages of $25,000 USD

While it may appear that ChapterHouse Studios have won on the majority of claims, there has been no ruling on who is picking up the legal costs. If both sides pick up their own cost GW will walk away with a much bigger bill then CHS as Chapter Houses’ representation was working pro bono. If CHS have to pick up GW costs it hard to see how ChapterHouse will be able to keep operating.

The winner from this case is the hobbiest. It is now possible for third parties in America to manufacture kits compatible with the Warhammer universe. However if CHS have to pick up the legal bill it’s unlikely anyone would choose to. Full details on where the court has drawn the line won’t been known until more details of the trail have been released.

Those that wish to buy any of the products under dispute may have now missed their opportunity.

The final judgement will probably come next week.

White Dwarf July Leaks early- Apocalypse for Chaos and Necrons

No super heavy for Imperial guard

Pictures of the July White Dwarf have already hit the net. We can’t show you them here as ChapterMasters.com does not post pictures before publication dates.

We can say July will see the release of a replacement Apocalypse expansion.

Apocalypse Release Information

The release will contain

  • Apocalypse Rule Book
  • Collectors edition
  • Gamers edition
  • Chaos Super heavy
  • Necron Super heavy

New Kits

The rumours indicate that all races except Orks and Guard will get a super heavy kits. I imagine the imperials are getting one kit, possible the rumoured Titan Knight, rather than Each Space Marine chapter and Sisters of Battle having there own kit.

Looks simular to this, only the head and arms are smaller and it’s on tracks not wheels.

Necron Super heavey Monolith , possible a Doomsday Monolith

monolith

The new Games Workshop kit looks similar to the standard Monolith, but features two beetle shaped objects on the side walls and it opens by separating down the middle on every side rather than having a door.

Rules: Sisters of Battle Repressor Update

Finally something for Sisters players

Sometimes something is still so long that you think it’s dead. Then you see a finger twitching out of the corner of your eye.  Your heart starts to pump. Then the fingers form a fist and relax, the other hand does the same. Her arms raise to the back of her neck and gradually the head rotates. The halo start to emit a faint glow. Could the saint be returning to life?sisters of battle

Forge World had released updated rules for the Repressor. It’s front armour has been upgraded to 13 and the points value has increased to 75. While this makes it an expensive Rhino with a heavy flamer. It does provide better protection for key infantry and thus, a reason to buy it.

The new Eldar Codex = 15% points reduction.

Moving Goal Posts

I should start by saying this anecdotal evidence based on my own Eldar army. I haven’t pored through the codex to work it unit by unit.

SiamHann at Warhammer World

This is really no shock, every codex downgrades some of the points values and strength of older units. It’s the only way GW can make the new units bestter than the older ones, other than changing the stat lines to 11/10.

Below  is my army list.

Autarch

Jet bike
Power weapon
Farseer
Spirit stones
Guide
Storm
Warlock
Conceal
Banshees
Exarch
Mirror swords
War shout
Acrobat
Dire avengers x6
Exarch
Shimmer shield power weapon
Defend
Dire avengers x5
Exarch
Twin catapults
Guardians x10
Bright lance
Jet bikes
Shuriken cannon
Path finders x10
Dark reapers
Exarch
Missile launcher
Crack shot
Fast shot
Falcon
Scatter laser
Holo field

In the 4th/5th Edition codex this totalled 1412 points. Having recently added the Rangers I was contemplating, either an Avatar or Wraith Lord to take me to 1500 points.

Using the 6th Edition codex this all weighs in at 1174 points, which is actually a 17% drop in points. It’s going to take me a bit more than than a Wraith Lord to hit 1500 points, something like a fully loaded Wraith Knight would do the trick. Now how did GW manage to find another way to make me buy a Wraith Knight?
