Warhammer Fest 2016 Display Boards with Video

There were more display boards at this year’s Fest of Warhammer. Forge Wolrd only brought one of their’s along, but GW bought quite a few. GW also brought their  planning books for the making the large boards at Warhammer World unfortunately I didn’t get photos of those.

A look back at Warhammer Fest 2016  Diplay Boards Video

I recently wrote about how the Forge World display boards were absence at Warhammer Fest in 2017. I thought I would recapt on what Forge World brought to the piece last year. GW and Forge World had swapped floors in 2016. The GW studio brought 2 of their own 4×4 display boards.

Great news. Chaptermaster’s very own Ben Jackson will be going to Golden Demon this year. Somehow he had managed to squeeze in a visit to Warhammer Fest in his busy Mathraton training schedule. Ben had this to say.

“I love Golden Demon and I’m so glad GW are making a day of it this year. While I love a trip to Warhammer World as much as the next person, 12 trips in one year is a bit much; unless you live in Nottingham. The atmosphere Golden Demon is electric, and on top of all of the fantastically painted models, the Forge World displays are normally exceptional. I can’t wait to see what I’ve done this year. As a venue The Rico arena is a huge improvement from the NEC and NIA. Having a much more relaxed atmosphere and better food choices available, the parking was also free last time. So big thumbs up to Kevin Rowntree on bringing back the best day in the games workshop calendar. I hope to post some pictures on the day and keep the ChapterMasters website busy with new content for weeks to come.

Mk8 Rogue Trader Ultramarine Sternguard

There is still a little detailed paint work left to do on these MkVIII Rouge Trader Space Marines. However now they have reached gamable paint standard I’d like to show them off. I’ve been working on these for decades. The core of the unit is made from all 3 of the original Mk8 Space Marines sculpts by Jes Godwin. I’ve added bits from the Ultramarine Upgrade set, some spare Vanguard and Death Company shoulder pads, and weapons from the Space Marine Tactical squad, along with a single Rouge trader Bolter and Auto pistol to make a combi Melta for the squad leader.IMG_3891.JPGIMG_3892.JPGIMG_3890.JPG

There is a single Rouge Trader back pack has been used for the banner. The others have additions from the plastic Venerable Dreadnought kit.

And so ends the longest dry spell on Chapter Masters.

Warhammer World Eldar pics

Can you believe this army took less than a week to paint? John Bracken a member of the warhammer world staff is the mastermind behind this superbly painted  Iyaden Army. If you want to find out how he has managed to paint these models so quickly and the reason why he has kindly explained how and why in this newsletter http://warhammerworld.games-workshop.com/2014/07/29/how-to-paint-an-army-in-a-week-no-really/

Hopefully with the release of the new Eldar codex being called Craftworld Eldar the Iyaden Craftworld wont be left  to out of place and have their rules included as I have always liked the idea of running a Wraith army and i’m sure that has nothing to do with the Wraith knight being improved recently.(snigger snigger) hopefully they will make a nice support army for My harlequins that I will hopefully be able to show you soon.
