Sisters of Battle With Blessed Banner

I came across this on Twitter today and thought it deserved a bit more than a retweet; and also the blog deserved a post. I’m sorry to say i don’t know who painted this Sister of Battle. It was posted by @steelpaladin. I think it’s a totally fantastic paint job. It’s almost unbelievable that this is a 28mm model.

Golden Demon Dreadnoughts and Walkers

I’ve realised we have completely missed out the 40k Dreadnoughts and moved on to squads. So here they are.

IMG_3378-0.JPGFirst up is this fantastic Legion of the Damned Dreadnought conversion. This really is a lovely bit of converting, the dreadnought has been given two power fists each is also armed with a heavy weapon. One has a plasma gun while the other, I assume, is a missile lunchers although it looks more like some kind of hell cannon. I notice there is a flaming bird on the Dreadnoughts knee given a clue to the space marines past. The pose of this Legion of the Damned Dreadnought reminds me of the Hell brute model.

IMG_3383.JPG
Again this Nurgle Hell Brute is a great conversion. The Hell brute is armed with a Multimelta and power fist. More deadly than the weapons, their appears to be a Greater Demon of Nurgle emerging from it torsos. clearly this hell brute has pleased the master he serves. Off to the warp with you!

IMG_3382.JPG
This Nurgle Dreadnought appears to be relatively new in it’s service of Chaos. Armed with a Las cannon and a Dreadnought close combat weapon. There are plenty of signs of Nurgle corruption but the form of a Space Marine Mkiv Dreadnought underneath is very clear.

IMG_3379.JPG
The more conservative Astro Militartarum Imperial Guard Sentinel looks very shore footed in top of the snowy peek. The plasma gun looks ready to fire, or overload.

IMG_3381-0.JPGCraziness of a different kind comes in the form of this Orky Deff Dred. Armed with a melta or scorcher, a big shooter and a very big drill for making “da oils in du umie trucks”. This Ork looks ready to go party big Wargh style.

IMG_3380.JPGFinally the consummate professional Ultramarine Dreadnought ends our look at the Dreadnoughts and walkers from Golden Demon. This Venerable Dreadnought armed with a Plasma Cannon is ready for mass removal of foot solders. If anything bigger makes an appearance the veteran of 100 battles will demonstrate how a Dreadnought Power Fist can cut through the thickest of armour.

Well that’s it from me today. I have one more 40k post to publish from Golden Demon. This will cover more Space Marine entries. After that you will have to wait for Golden Demon 2015, which is only around 6 months away. Warhammer Visions has started to publish their pictures from Golden Demon 2014. You can always check out their much higher quality photos. Alternatively you can browse the Golden Demon category on this site. As well as lots more post from 2014 there is also some coverage of 2013 and 2012 along with armies on parade from both years.
The good news is I still have plenty of photos left from other displays at Warhammer Fest, so I invite to you to subscribe to our email notifications above. You will only every recieve an email informing you a new post has been published. We will not send you any promotions, or pass on you email address to other companies. Alternatively you can follow us on twitter @chaptermasters or like us on facebook facebook/chaptermasters.com to recieve notifications of new content on the site.

Right time to get on with the day. Thanks for reading.

Battle Pictures – Emperor’s Children vs Ultramarines Legion

Some photos of the last battle I played with Ben; over Christmas. We played a city fight mission using the Mission Cards in White Dwarf. Ben used his Emperors Children and I used his Ultramarines Legion. The army lists where written using the Horus Heresy Space Marine legion army lists from book 1 betrayal.

The forced were fairly even I took a centurion, 3 Dreadnoughts 2 rhinos, 2 predators, a storm eagle a squad of exo armoured terminators and a tactical squad. Ben took almost the same force, a centurion, an imperial knight, a drop pod, a mk1 land raider, a storm eagle a squad of veterans and a tactical squad.

Ben started the game by dropping his centurion and Verteran squad into my deployment zone. His aggressive tactics resulted in a gradual dwindling of my units.

By the end of turn 6 my forces had been reduced to 4 legionnaires and a single Dreadnought, while Ben still had his knight, Storm Eagle and a full tactical squad. Fortunately for me the game ended at this point and due to completing more of my mission card I had secured the most victory points. While I won the game it felt more like a loss; given how little of my force where left.

Adepta Sororitas Day, Celestine the Living Saint

The Sisters of Battle will have their Day

Sisters of Battle Day

Calls of the Saint will rise again echo through the Sisters of Battle community on a fairly regular bases, and we hear rumours of new plastic kits having design problems and then rumours of production starting but release being possibly more than 2 years away. Well the Sisters of Battle community are taking matters into their own hands. They have declared there will be a Sisters of Battle day.

” I think someone should make petition to save SOB (Sisters of Battle) or make a date where everyone you could get, goes out and buys a sisters model. I think it would be a sad day if they went the way of the squats.” – Kieran – Sisters of Battle collector.

The only problem is they can’t decide what day this should be.

“What is a good Sisters day? Like May the forth is for star wars.” Jon – Sisters of Battle community moderator.

A couple of ideas so far are 1st August and the 1st September “Adepta Sororitas August or Sisters of Battle September” (Sororitas September).

Chaptermasters.com wants to get behind this idea. The question is how, other than helping spread the word. So we have decided to host a poll on what Day should be Sisters of Battle Day. If more ideas are submitted we will add them to the poll.

Please vote if you want to support the continuation of the Sisters of Battle as an alive and kicking army in 40k.

After creating this poll we became aware of another similar idea running on DakkaDakka: Buy a sister of battle with a melta gun on on march 4th 2014, so this poll has been reset and that date has now been added. At the time the poll was reset 2/2/15

Sisters Sororitas September had 11 votes

Adepta Sororitas August had 10 votes

Valentine’s day had 8 votes.
